Abbotsford Sports Hall of Fame Class of 2010
The Bradner Ladies Softball and Slo-Pitch team was inducted into the Abbotsford Sports Hall of Fame in 2010 after several decades in which they brought tremendous positive recognition to our community.
From a modest beginning in 1967, the Bradner teams gained strength and popularity quickly. By the mid-1970s, the Bradner ladies were the Fraser Valley powerhouse and then in 1980, won their first of two consecutive B.C. championships. In 1984, they joined the slo-pitch league and by 1987 were provincial champions and came fifth at nationals.
In 1989, the Bradner ladies won the B.C. slo-pitch championship for a third consecutive year. Their outstanding successes continued until 1991 as B.C. champions, and they finished second at the national championships.
During these four decades, many talented local residents helped make this one of the most recognized sports teams in the province.
