Diana Hambley

Racquetball - inducted in 2010

As an Abbotsford Senior Secondary graduate in 1976, Diana played many sports at an extremely high level. But not until 1984, did she start playing racquetball at the Valley Racquets Club. With her outstanding athletic ability and her calmness under pressure, she soon started winning at all the local tournaments in her division and then even provincial titles.

By 1999, Diana won the Canadian National Racquetball Championship in Ladies Singles and Doubles. This was only the start of a series of National Championships: the 2003 Canadian Singles, 2004 Mixed A Doubles, 2005 Mixed Doubles and Womens Open, 2007 Mixed Elite Doubles.

Her career in racquetball is definitely not over as the follow list of 45+ wins will attest: 2008 Singles A event, 2009 Singles and Mixed Doubles and 2nd in Womens Doubles plus winning gold, silver and bronze in the World Senior Doubles 45+.
